Rajinikanth and Sridevi are in their prime of acting in Dharma Yutham. Both are in flushing youth . A love story suspended with an element of suspense, the death of his sister puts him in a rage of anger. Sridevi supports him is his thick and thin. The song Aagaya gangai sung by Malaysia Vasudevan off screen and by Rajini on screen is set in a classical raga Madhyamavathi. Rajini stages a dharma yutham to punish the villians. Released during the late eighties this movie was a real treat to Rajini fans. It was a suspense thriller and a beautiful love story. Another song Oruthanga rathathil oru manjal nilavu portrays a brothers love for his sister vivdly. When this movie was released Latha Rajinis wife was studying in college and her friends used to rag her unknowingly which was to become a reality after some time. It was a big hit and the music still haunts us. Rajini s exemplary style of acting is note worthy.
