Manju (Sarita) is suffering from a terminal disease but is unaware of it. Her father-in-law Dr. Dwarkanath (Sivaji Ganesan) is the only one aware of it. Manju is happily married to Srivatsa (Sharath Kumar) and is blissfully in love with her husband. Srivatsa though has had sexual relationships with many women before marriage and keeps this a secret from his wife and father. While, Dr. Dwarkanath, an eye surgeon is trying hard to save his daughter-in-law’s life he meets a blind patient, Kumaran (Jai Shankar). Kumaran unwinds his story, and shows him the photograph of a young man and tells him that he wants to take revenge on him. Dwarkanath is shocked to see that the man in the photograph is none other than his own son. How Dwarkanath battles his emotions of depression and shock and resolves the crisis constitute the story.
