India’s Sushil Kumar crerated history by wining a Bronze Medal in 66kg Freestyle Wrestling at Beijing Olympics. This is India’s second medal at Beijing Olympics after Abhinav Bindra’s gold medal. Sushil Kumar beat Spiridonov of Kazhakastan in the bronze medal bout. Sushil Kumar entered the bronze medal bout through the repecharge round even if he lost in the first round.
Sushil Kumar reminded Indian people of K D Yadav’s bronze medal in Wrestling in 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games. People across India erupted into joy and celebration, as the news flashed that Sushil Kumar won a bronze medal at Beijing Olympics. For the first time in its Olympics history, India has won two individual medals.
