Sushil Kumar created yet more history for India when he clinched the Bronze medal today at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This Wrestler from Patiala (Haryana) defeated Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan 3-1 in the Men’s freestyle 66kg category.
With this win, Sushil won the first ever medal for India in Wrestling since 1952. This is also the first time since the 1952 Helsinki Olympics(when India won Gold- Hockey and Bronze- Wrestling [Khashaba Jadhav] in Men’s Freestyle Bantanweight) that India has won two medals at a single Olympics. This seems like one of the Best Olympics for India.
Very proud moment for Indians. Congratulations Sushil!
